Má vlast (My Homeland)

Six Musical Poems by Bedřich Smetana.

The work to the music of Bedřich Smetana “My Homeland” was created by choreographer Jiří Bubeníček, who also became the director, and playwright of the entire ballet production together with his brother Otto Bubeníček.

Both brothers say about the project: “It is an art project that wants to make a significant contribution with its artistic value to the celebrations of the founding of Czechoslovakia. The cycle of six symphonic poems is a work that is chosen to celebrate the establishment of the republic characteristically. Bedřich Smetana created My Homeland at the time of the reverberations of the Czech national revival, which culminated thirty years later with the establishment of an independent Czechoslovak state."
